Abstrakty

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań ogólnopolskich obserwacji budżetów gospodarstw domowych osób w wieku 60 lat i więcej w 2006 r. Badaniami objęto 9977 budżetów tych gospodarstw. Według autora na podstawie wyników można przyjąć, że osoby starsze nie są tak biedną grupą społeczeństwa, jak się powszechnie uważa. Chociaż ich gospodarstwa domowe cechuje bierność zawodowa, a głównym źródłem utrzymania są świadczenia z ubezpieczeń społecznych, w badanym okresie dysponowały one wyższym (o 117 zł) dochodem rozporządzalnym na l osobę niż gospodarstwa domowe ogółem. Autor podkreśla również, że cechuje ich także skłonność do oszczędzania - w miesięcznych budżetach osób starszych występują oszczędności na poziomie jedynie nieznacznie odbiegającym od poziomu gospodarstw osób pracujących.

The goal of the article is to assess impact of the economic factors on formation of consumption in households of elderly people. Analysing seniors' households' budgets, there was ascertained that the income-related situation, measured with distribution of quintile groups, determines the level and pattern of their consumption. Together with improvement of households' income-related conditions, there is decreasing the share of consumer expenditure in total expenditure, and there is increasing the share of most of expenditure on non--food products. There is also growing the monthly average consumption of the majority of foods. It is right to emphasise that in 2006 the richest households of elderly people had at their disposal their monthly income almost 6 times greater than the poorest households. At the same time, their expenses almost 4 times exceeded expenses of households with the lo-west income. (original abstract)
