Zaprezentowano istotę metodyki stosowanej w procesie foresight oraz omówiono jego znaczenie z punktu widzenia podjętego tematu.

The paper seeks to offer an answer to the question whether it is reasonable and possible to consciously anticipate future development in the changing environment and in the face of challenges posed by globalization. A common conviction prevails that globalization offers an opportunity of creating a more conscious, democratic and powerful society, which takes the risk of determining development paradigms - a society which is willing to assume responsibility for achieving this objective. Foresight is a significant process which provides methodological foundations for determining the future of an economy or a specific region. (original abstract)
