Abstrakty

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie koncepcji klastra i jego znaczenia dla rozwoju przedsiębiorstw. Przedstawiono podstawowe definicje gron przedsiębiorczości (klastrów) oraz mechanizm ich funkcjonowania. Omówiono przyczyny powstawania klastrów oraz etapy ich rozwoju. Ukazano również realne korzyści płynące z przynależności do tej struktury dla potencjalnych przedsiębiorców oraz znaczenie podmiotu publicznego we wspieraniu tej formy przedsiębiorczości.

The aim of this article is to present cluster concept and his role in enterprises development. Cooperation, competition and factor localization are on the top of cluster idea. The author gives key definitions of clusters and theoretical aspects of his function. As defined by Michael E. Porter cluster is "geographical concentration of interrelated companies, specialized suppliers, service providers in related sectors and related institutions in various areas competing among themselves, but also cooperating". Clusters, as every organizational form has his own cycle of life. Clusters emphasizes the meaning of human being and cooperation by well - known human and social capital. Globalization, integration and systemic transformation of economies require from enterprises to compete and to respond on market demands in flexible way. Small and medium sized companies are also placed in new conditions of business. They are looking for ways and methods of business that will enable them to function and to exist on market. The most important actions seem to be the ones leading to increase in competitiveness and innovation. This is why many companies tend to be interested in cooperation within cluster structures. The paper describes the policy of development based on clusters, i.e. the meaning of public unit supporting that kind of enterprise. The article shows main advantages of being in cluster structure. Clusters are effective mechanism of creating innovation as well as minimizing costs and raising competitiveness. The Silicon Valley is the most famous example of cluster in the world.
