Contemporary organizations frequently face problems resulting from the improper functioning of information systems. These problems are triggered by workers, bad communication systems, partially fulfilled information needs, information loss and a low level of information security. The proper evaluation of these problems calls for the use of appropriate measuring tools to objectify the identified states of information processes. In this paper the author looks at the most important elements and features of the information system of the enterprise. The criteria he offers for assessment can be employed after modifications that meet the needs and particular demands of an organization have been considered.(original abstract)
