Przedstawiono historię rozwoju transportu w straży pożarnej w Polsce od czasu powstania zawodowej straży pożarnej w I połowie XIX wieku do czasów obecnych. Scharakteryzowano etapy wprowadzania i udoskonalania sprzętu i środków transportu.

The history of transport development in fire brigade in Poland from the first half of 19 century (Vilna 1802, Warszawa - 1836, Lvov - 1850) to present times have been presented in the paper. The stages of implementation and improving of equipment and means of transport in fire brigade: from manual fire engine and team of horses with additional equipment through the first fire cars in the beginning of 20 century (in Poznań, Kraków, Warszawa, Toruń, Vilna, Lvov), development of motorization in fire brigade in interwar period and after the end of the second world war (description in details of used vehicles) up to presently produced by one-line businesses multifunctional rescue-fire vehicles, compact cars and specialized cars directly for State Fire Brigades and Volunteer Fire Brigades.(original abstract)
