W latach 1995-2007 w ramach programów Unii Europejskiej PHARE TOURIN w odniesieniu do turystyki wiejskiej zrealizowano między innymi następujące projekty: - Plan Ogólny Turystyki na Terenach Wiejskich, - Plan Marketingowy Turystyki Wiejskiej dla Polski, - Produkty Markowe Turystyki Wiejskiej. W referacie dokonano analizy przedstawionych projektów pod kątem stopnia ich realizacji w latach 1998-2003 oraz aktualności przedstawionych zaleceń w świetle obecnej sytuacji po stronie podaży i popytu.

Rural tourism in Poland has developed professionally since early 1990s. This professionalism worked on different levels and has been reflected in many ways, yet the most important development occurred during the PHARE TOURIN programmes in the years 1995-1999. The main results of the support granted by the programmes to rural tourism development were strategies which indicated the goals and directions for the years to come. This paper outlines the situation of rural tourism in Poland at least 5 years after the strategies were prepared. It especially focuses on the analysis and evaluation of the product and marketing strategies in the context of their level of implementation (completion) and usefulness after a few years. Conclusions show the differences in various aspects of tourist product development before and after TOURIN programmes as well as the reasons why some of them have been neglected. (original abstract)
