W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych wśród przedsiębiorstw na Ukrainie i Białorusi, dotyczących ich udziału w rozwoju regionalnym tych państw. Omówiono takie zagadnienia jak: zatrudnienie, innowacje, rynki i współpraca firm.

This article presents the results of research into the role of small and medium sized enterprises' sector in the process of economic development of regions in the international aspect. The analysis was taken about the enterprises' contribution to creation of work-places, implementation of innovations and development of external markets. The capabilities of SME in this sphere remain considerably unrealized, especially taking into account the units located in the outer regions of Ukraine and Belarus. (original abstract)
