Abstrakty

Celem opracowania było przedstawienie roli I udziału prywatnych źródeł finansowania świadczeń zdrowotnych w systemach ochrony zdrowia wybranych krajów Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej. Analiza wydatków ponoszonych przez poszczególne kraje europejskie na ochronę zdrowia została przeprowadzona na podstawie danych dostępnych w bazie WHO European for All Databese (HFA-DB). In the contemporary health care systems, based mainly on public funds (state budget and/or compulsory social health insurance) private sources of health care financing have become more and more important (free health insurance, medical subscription or different surcharges of patients). The paper presents the role and the place of private sources of health care financing (including cash payments and prepaid plans) in central and eastern European countries' health systems. The research results allow to compare and evaluate the range of using private health care funds in the analysed countries during the last few years. Moreover, the results indicate a need for further development of private methods of health care financing, which in practice can supplement or improve health care services delivered by public sector.(original abstract)
