Since the beginning of the Polish private equity market only few investments have been made in early stage enterprises. In year 2007 the first public funds supporting venture capital were allocated. Those funds, given at disposal mainly by the European Union, can create venture capital market in Poland. In the article principles describing the allocation of the funds are presented. In addition an ability of reaching goals established for new created National Capital Fund is evaluated. (original abstract)
