Abstrakty

W artykule przedstawiono ewolucję gospodarki portugalskiej w okresie ostatnich dwudziestu lat. Integracja ze strukturami WE zmusiła Portugalię do reorganizacji i liberalizacji gospodarki. Portugalia stała się nowoczesnym i konkurencyjnym krajem.

Portuguese integration with European Communities was a giant step on the road to highly developed economy. Once peripheral and economically backward, Portugal became a modern and competitive country. Integration with EC structures forced this country to reorganize and liberalize its economy. From the Polish perspective economic changes which took place in Portugal are significant, its situation back then is comparable to Poland's situation today. Just like Portugal in the first years after accession, Poland participates in the considerable part of community funds. Integration with EC improved economic development rate and competitiveness on global markets and helped increase investment in infrastructure. (original abstract)
