Celem opracowania była analiza warunków, w jakich polskie spółki publiczne podjęły decyzję o emisji hybrydowych instrumentów dłużnych. W tym celu zbadano spółki publiczne działające w polskim sektorze informatycznym.

Convertible bond can be a very flexible source of financing for the developing company. It makes shares issuing during the bear market time possible. Using convertible bond the company can avoid debt repayment. The goal of the article is to point out the main market circumstances for convertible bonds issues, made by Polish public companies from IT sector. The analysis implies that one of the most important reason to issue the convertible bonds is deep depreciation of bond issuer's share price on the stock exchange. Such situation makes share price appreciation more probable and so do the conversion premium. Another factor determining the moment of issuing the convertibles seems to be the overall share price level and trend for the sector.(original abstract)
