W artykule przedstawiono ogólne informacje na temat Serbii. Omówiono rozwój historyczny systemu emerytalnego Serbii oraz jego stan na 1 czerwca 2009 roku. Zaprezentowano również wyzwania i przewidywane zmiany w systemie emerytalnym Serbii.

The article examines the retirement pension system in Serbia. The first part offers general information about the country. The second focuses on the evolution of Serbia's pension system and culminates in the presentation of the current situation. The last part presents challenges and future changes through a look at both present and past solutions employed by the Serbian pension system. The author searches for ideas worth consideration in international comparisons. The summary highlights that Serbia is a country with great potential but at present it is struggling to identify approaches employed in other countries that would be worth implementing in that country.(original abstract)
