Price competition in the privately managed compulsory pension funds sector in both Chile and Poland is unsatisfactory. In 2008 Chilean reform introduced several changes which also encouraged new entrants to the AFP sector (automatic enrolment of new members for a period of 24 months to the AFP offering the lowest price, eliminating fixed fees and excluding the disability & survivor contribution of the AFP percentage fee). One of the most important changes to have been implemented in the Chilean system, and which could also be implemented in Poland, is public pension education, which increases the ability of pension fund members to make rational decisions. If that were done, changes in the acquisition process that should be centralised and deliver standardised information on РТЕ fees would be effective. (original abstract)
