Abstrakty

Medyczne konta oszczędnościowe stanowią formę prywatnego finansowania ochrony zdrowia polegającą na gromadzeniu oszczędności na pokrycie kosztów świadczeń zdrowotnych. W artykule przedstawiono istotę medycznych kont oszczędnościowych, a następnie omówiono doświadczenia wybranych krajów (USA i Singapur) w zastosowaniu tej metody finansowania świadczeń zdrowotnych.

Medical savings accounts can be defined as individual savings accounts into which people are either required, or given incentives to deposit money for covering health care expenses. Because there is no risk-pooling, medical savings accounts are usually combined with high-deductible catastrophic health insurance. The paper presents the concept of medical savings accounts then the experiences of Singapore and the United States in using MSAs. (original abstract)
