The main aim of the paper is presentation of the results of the research on regional death risk analysis. The research contains two main stages. In the first stage the probability of death is calculated separately for each of the UK regions. The results then are used as a base for comparing the risk of death within regions. Next, the cluster analysis is applied to associate and distinguish homogenous regions according to the similarity of the features used to provide the study. The cluster analysis allowed to create four main groups of the regions, called by the author the profitability regions. These results could be applied into life insurance business as a base of rates differentiation approach. (original abstract)
