Investment of Technical Reseres of Insurers in the Republic of Bulgaria

Celem tego artykułu jest przeanalizowanie wzrostu wielkości rezerw technicznych, jak i tendencji zmian środków finansowych, w których są one lokowane. Ze względu na ograniczenia formalne zeszytu analizę środków finansowych przeprowadzimy jedynie w skali krajowej (dot. Republiki Bułgarii). (fragment tekstu)
Insurance obligations allocate in the future and that is why insurers should build sufficient amount of technical reserves, manage the latter efficiently, investing them in financial assets, permitted by the Insurance Code in order to get optimal profitability at adequate liquidity level. Only under these conditions, the insurer is to keep liquidity at the level to fulfill the obligations. There is a tendency of diversification and the number of financial assets in which insurers can invest their reserves continuously increases. A small scale of the Bulgarian Finance Market does not secure various enough scopes for investment of insurers' reserves and the regulatory framework sets limits to building balanced insurance investment portfolios. Such possibilities appear in connection with the European Union membership of the country. Yet, the insurers invest the already put aside reservers in a limited range of financial assets. There are certain differences, regarding the nature of the different insurance branches - life and general insurance and the skills of the management teams. (original abstract)
