Income and Expenditure of Households Earning a Living from Sources of Unearned Income

The household head earning a living from sources of unearned income is economically inactive, which gives rise to the following questions: what are the reason for this active, what are the main and auxiliary sources of income in those households, what form does other family members’ economic activity take, what is the impact of socio-economic and demographic qualities on those households’ income and expenditure? This paper presents selected research results and seeks to answer these questions. The results were obtained from a sample of 2,075 individual households. Numerical data come from research into households budgets carried out by CSO (Polish – GUS) in 2006. (fragment of text)
