Abstrakty

W niniejszym artykule rozważany jest problem arbitralnego wyboru grupy gospodarstw odniesienia (rozkładu odniesienia). Przedstawiono porównanie dobrobytu heterogenicznych gospodarstw domowych oraz omówiono wpływ wyboru rozkładu odniesienia na ranking dobrobytu.

In this paper, the problem of the independence of welfare comparisons of heterogeneous households with respect to household reference type is analysed. For such comparisons, equivalence scales are used where the category "single childless household" is usually applied as the reference type. In the paper, a theorem is proved that specifies the impact of the choice of the reference household on the ranking of the distributions of equivalent incomes when the Lorenz domination criterion is used. Various equivalence scales are analysed in the paper. The power-type scale (Buhman et al.), the Cutler-Katz scale and OECD-type equivalence scales are all independent of the choice of household reference type. Other parametric equivalence scales considered in the paper are only asymptotically (with respect to household size) independent of such a choice. (original abstract)
