Abstrakty

Integracja europejska znalazła się w punkcie zwrotnym, najbliższe lata zdecydują czy to regionalne ugrupowanie pogrąży się w marazmie, czy też będzie nadal zacieśniać powiązania ekonomiczne. Przedstawiono historię rozwoju i pogłębiania się integracji europejskiej. Omówiono zróżnicowanie rozwojowe, jako najważniejszą barierę pogłębienia się integracji.

Integration within the European Union has reached a turning point: it will either succumb to inertia or undertake the challenge of building an economic union. Unfortunately, the multiplicity of ideas and the lack of prospects for compromise prevent further deepening of the integration process. Furthermore, developmental differences between Member States and regions significantly limit possibilities in this regard. Another limitation is the inability of particular states to implement the ambitious plan known as the Lisbon Strategy, which would turn the EU into a highly competitive economic area. These factors may become the main reasons of a crisis in European integration. (original abstract)
