Omówiono pojęcie bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych i przesłanki ich podejmowania, teoretyczne aspekty wpływu BIZ na rynek pracy, a następnie zanalizowano wpływ BIZ na rynek pracy w Polsce w latach 2003-2008.

Accessing the European Union in May 2004 enhanced Poland's competitive position among other countries aiming to attract foreign direct investment. Consequently, the inflow of FDI has hence increased substantially. Even though positive results of FDI on the economy of the recipient is conditional on a number of factors, the aforementioned results proved important enough for the governments to widely approve of the activity of transnational corporations. As a result, accommodating investments of TNCs has recently become a trend in international politics. In 2007 Poland enhanced its position of the most attractive recipient of FDI in the region. In years 2003-2007 inflow of FDI rose on average by 40 per cent every year. In the same period unemployment rate in Poland fell by 36 per cent and the number of persons who found employment in entities with foreign capital increased by 42%. Even more interestingly, though average wages in entities with foreign capital rose only slightly, the distance between them and the wages in Polish companies decreased significantly.
