Abstrakty

Dubajskie inwestycje przyciągają uwagę świata z dwóch powodów: ze względu na swoje wyrafinowanie oraz emocje, jakie one wywołują. Przekonanie o sukcesie i samowystarczalności Dubaju, obecnie zachwiała informacja o sięgającym 26 mld USD długu firmy inwestycyjnej Dubai World. Zdaniem autorki, w dyskusji publicznej o przyczynach kłopotów finansowych pomija się uwarunkowania społeczno-gospodarcze tego szejkanatu, które zadecydowały o wyborze dynamicznej, ale obarczonej znacznym ryzykiem strategii rozwoju. Aby to wyjaśnić, autorka pokazuje warunki historyczne, naturalne i kulturowe Zjednoczonych Emiratów Arabskich, oraz omawia pozycję i znaczenie Dubaju wśród pozostałych państw Zatoki Perskiej. The investments in Dubai attract the world attention for two reasons: with regard on its refinement as well as emotions they evoke. The conviction on Dubai’ success and self-sufficiency currently put in doubdt an information that the investment company Dubai World’s debt reaches at present 26 billion USD. According to the author, the public discussion of the financial problems’ causes ignored the socio-economic conditioning of this Sheikh state, which determined the choice of dynamic, but burdened with considerable risk of development strategies. In order to explain it the author shows the historical, natural and cultural heritage of United Arab Emirates, and also discusses the position and importance of Dubai among remaining states of the Gulf States.
