Abstrakty
Both statistical and fieldwork aspects should be considered in the survey design stage. Here it has shown, how these two interact in solving of the problem of optimal clustering. There is a need to balance the two contradictory effects, which clustering is likely to have on these two aspects of the survey. The paper some simple tools, which may help in searching for a good and informed choice of this important survey design parameters were presented. (fragment of text)
