The general changes in the Hungarian higher education in the last few years have strained the competition between the different institutions and, as a consequence, the situation of several traditional agricultural training institutions has become difficult. More institutions have recognized the growing importance to identify the candidates' motivations in order to establish the institution's strategy and to keep and/or improve its competitiveness. In this paper we make a summary of the nationwide survey which was performed in 2008. and which was based by the results of the motivation enquiries regularly taken in our Faculty.(original abstract)
