The positive characteristic of the city centre redevelopment project is the efficient organisation of this process. Sosnowiec as one of few towns and cities from Katowice Agglomeration (along with Chorzów and Gliwice) has realised such a big - in the Upper Silesia conditions - project of a inner city renovation in less then a 3 years. The weak point of the project is the lack of supporting activities (in social and economic fields) as well as lack of the city inhabitants and the local SMEs sector wider involvement About 33 892,0 Euro/1 workplaces in defining of the conception and targeted results of the project. The lack of the public participation causes the danger that proposals will not meet with expected acceptation and sufficient involvement of project actors, The weak points is also the lack of a comprehensive public systems and project effects monitoring. It means the lack of a comprehensive public management procedures for this type of undertakings. Realisation of the city centre redevelopment project has absorbed the big part of the investment budget of the Sosnowiec, nearly without any initial appraisal, like socio-economic assessment. It causes that decisions concerning allocation of resources have not strong rational basis. (fragment of text)
