Structural changes in Europe of the late 1980s let to create one German country. Germany is one of the most important members of the European Community (EC). That's why both German government and the European Community engage in the process of revitalizing a lagging economy of new eastern states. The process will also have an influence upon the German-Polish relations. (original abstract)
