Abstrakty
Powyższe opracowanie przedstawia badania empiryczne kształtowania się struktury kapitału w przedsiębiorstwach na podstawie wybranej szerokiej populacji spółek. Dane pochodzą z krajów, które zdaniem autorów stanowią odpowiednią próbę przedstawiającą rożne charakterystyki rynków finansowych. Dodatkowo w badanie włączono Polskę, która jest największym nowym członkiem Unii Europejskiej i łącznie z szeregiem innych krajów z Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej zaczęła budować swój rynek finansowy dopiero po roku 1990. Badaniu poddano niespełna 2000 przedsiębiorstw, z czego prawie 200 pochodzi z Polski. Tendencje w kształtowaniu się struktury kapitału oraz jej determinanty zostały przeprowadzone dla każdego z krajów z osobna, a także dla wszystkich krajów razem. Do przeprowadzenia badań wykorzystano tzw. badania panelowe, w których obserwacje równocześnie mają charakter przekrojowy opisujący poszczególne spółki oraz biorą pod uwagę kolejne lata. W badaniach statycznych zastosowano trzy alternatywne metody: model efektów stałych (fixed effects model), model efektów zmiennych (random effect model) oraz model połączonych danych (pooling model). Zmienne zależne zostały dopasowane w ten sposób, aby jak najlepiej wytłumaczyć strategie kształtowania kapitału stałego w przedsiębiorstwach zarówno po kątem udziału długu w całości aktywów, jak i udziału zdefiniowanego kapitału stałego także w całości aktywów.
