A review of the concepts of probability
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
The work contains, in the first place, a classification of different definitions of probability. The classification of J. Fierich partitions definitions according to the manner in which they determine probability and to the subject they treat. In the questions of defining probability he discusses three groups of opinions: the classical definition, the à priori one and the approximate axiomatic method, and the frequency and à posteriori definition. As to the subject, with which the idea of probability is concerned, three objective theories are distinguished in the work - those that speak of the probability of occurrences in the external world, the subjective or psychologie ones, concerned with the probability of convitions and, finally, the logical theories which apply the concept of probability to opinions or to their functions. The work stresses also, very rightly, that the control problem, discussed at present in literature throughout the world, is the problem of the probability of events of of individual opinions.
