W artykule poruszono kwestię religii i Kościoła w postsekularystycznym społeczeńswie amerykańskim. Opisano proces rozdziału polityki i Kościoła, który rozpoczął się w Stanach w latach dziewięćdziesiątych. Zaprezentowano jakie odniesienia do religii pojawiały się w kampaniach prezydenckich i przedstawiono poglądy poszczególnych kandydatów na temat "polityka a Kościół". (fragment tekstu)

This paper is tackling the problem of religion and politics in a postsecular American society, a legal separation of state and Church, state and religion, the tax credits for religious organizations and the agency of religious leaders in political campaigns. The political activity of protestant congregations is closely bound with the development of TV-evangelism since the 1970's. Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell became in 1971 the co-founders of the protestant political movement "Moral Majority". In 2004 Falwell tried to create a new religious and political organization named "Moral Majority Coalition", which had the aim to continue the "evangelical revolution", promoting the election of conservative politicians. The election campaign in 2008 led to the introduction on the wide political and medial scene two extremely different pastors: John Hagee from Texas, a representative of Christian Zionism and Jeremiah Wright from Chicago, a representative of Black Liberation Theology. Hagee expressed the support for the republican candidate John McCain, whereas Wright became famous as the pastor of Barack Obama. (original abstract)
