Abstrakty

Zdrowie publiczne - mając silne powiązania zarówno z uwarunkowaniami środowiskowymi jak i z rozwojem ekonomicznym - uznane zostało za jeden z siedmiu obszarów priorytetowych Strategii Zrównoważonego Rozwoju Unii Europejskiej. W artykule dokonano przeglądu i oceny wskaźników monitorowania priorytetu "zdrowie publiczne" oraz trendów w tej dziedzinie w UE 27 ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na Polskę. Fakt, że obywatele UE żyją coraz dłużej w dobrym zdrowiu, świadczy o postępie w dziedzinie zdrowia i realizacji paradygmatu zrównoważonego rozwoju . Mimo to wyzwania w tej dziedzinie nie maleją, lecz rosną. (abstrakt oryginalny)

Public health - strongly connected to both environmental conditions and economic development - has been chosen as one of the seven priorities in the EU Strategy for Sustainable Development. The article reviews the indicators used to monitor public health priority and trends visible there in this field in the EU27, with particular attention paid to Poland. EU citizens leading increasingly long lives in good health proves that progress is being made in the area of both health and implementing sustainable development paradigm. Nevertheless, new and even bigger challenges in this field continually appear. (original abstract)
