Abstrakty

Niniejszy artykuł porusza dość egzotyczny, ale realny, problem ubezpieczeń satelitarnych oraz pozaubezpieczeniowych sposobów finansowania ryzyka związanego z eksploatacją satelitów. Autor podjął próbę kompleksowej oceny możliwych sposobów finansowania ryzyka wynikającego z działalności człowieka w kosmosie. Mając na uwadze, że ingerencja ludzi w sferę świata kosmosu będzie się nasilać, opracowanie to stanowi istotny w polskiej literaturze przyczynek do dyskusji na temat ubezpieczeń satelitarnych i kosmicznych, co - jak Autor dowodzi nie jest tożsame. Exploration and exploitation of Outer Space created the demand for insurance cover against losses due to destruction of satellites or connected with liabilities for the inflicted damages. Thus, it is difficult to imagine commercial exploitation of Outer Space without insurance cover. In this paper the author tried to defme the concept and the scope of cover of satellite insurance. To this end satellite insurance and space insurance were distinguished, as they are falsely considered as synonyms. Moreover characteristic features of this kind of insurance were listed and described in detail. The last part of this paper is an analysis of other methods of financing the risk connected with exploitation of satellites. (original abstract)
