Problem prognozowania zapotrzebowania na energię elektryczną wynikający z braku możliwości jej magazynowania został podjęty w artykule R. Kasperowicza.Zaprezentowano w nim najczęściej stosowane modele prognozowania spożycia energii elektrycznej, czyli prognozy krótkookresowe oraz długoterminowe. (fragment tekstu)

Analysing and forecasting the demand for electric energy is the most important research area in the electric power industry. It results from the special feature of electric energy that is lack of the possibility to store it. The supply has to balance the demand at every moment, that is why production and consumption of electric energy are particularly inter-linked. Companies of the electric power industry need to diversify forecasts for this reason. The article presents models which are most often applied to forecasting consumption of electric energy. It is possible to divide the forecasting models into two types. The first one short-term forecasts which refer to minutes, hours or days and the second type - long-time forecasts which refer to months, quarters and years. (original abstract)
