Abstrakty
This paper analyses dynamic relationships between consumption, income and assets. The underlying theoretical model is rational expectations permanent income model. Analysis conducted on the Polish data within the framework of identified VECM models enables empirical verification of the Euler equation vs. consumption function/error correction approach for Poland. Exogeneity analysis of variables as well as Granger causality of the relevant dynamic models led to the conclusion that dynamic consumption equations stemming from identified VECM models are closer to the Euler equation approach than to consumption function with error correction mechanism.
