Abstrakty

Problemem podjętym w prezentowanym opracowaniu stają się pytania o przyczyny spadku produkcji w krajach transformujących się, a także i o to, jakie działania w polityce gospodarczej sprzyjały wychodzeniu z recesji i przyczyniały się do wejścia na ścieżkę wzrostu gospodarczego? Pytania te wydają się też istotne także i dla tych wszystkich, którzy zadają sobie pytania o koszty transformacji gospodarczej. Podstawowa hipoteza przyjęta w pracy jest zaś następująca: recesji transformacyjnej nie można było uniknąć. Obszarem zainteresowania są z kolei doświadczenia państw Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej oraz byłego ZSRR. Okres analizy obejmuje przy tym ostatnie dziesięciolecie XX wieku. (fragment tekstu)

At the beginning of transition from socialist to market economy there was a hope that the well-being will improve. Unfortunately, common experience in transition countries was a deep economic recession. The purpose of this paper is to find an answer to the question: what was the cause of transformational recession, and broadly speaking if it was possible to avoid it. What was the proper economic policy to minimize economic slowdown? On the basis of the literature we reach a conclusion that the recession was an unavoidable cost of transition to the market economy.
