Abstrakty

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie teoretycznych podstaw dwóch metod stosowanych w przypadku wystąpienia w badaniu braków odpowiedzi: imputacji i kalibracji. Metody te są z powodzeniem wykorzystywane, przede wszystkim przez urzędy statystyczne państw skandynawskich i przyczyniają się do poprawy estymacji różnego rodzaju parametrów w badaniach obarczonych brakami odpowiedzi. The main goal of the paper is to present theoretical aspects of imputation and calibration. The former is a procedure whercby missing values on one or more study variables are "filled in" with substitutes. The latter one is a modern method of treating nonresponse in statistical surveys. In the surveys conducted by the Central Statistical Office the lack of response is a serious problem. Because nonresponse occurs on a large scale, it influences the quality of the results. In this paper the author presented some commonly used rules to produce imputed values which can be adopted in surveys with nonresponse. The idea of calibration estimators for total value according to methodology proposed by Jean Claude - Devill, Sixten Lundstrom and Carl -Erik Sarndal for statistical surveys with nonresponse was also presented.
