Turcja w Sojuszu Północnoatlantyckim i jej stanowisko wobec polityki bezpieczeństwa i obrony Unii Europejskiej

Abstrakty

W ciągu ostatnich kilku lat turecka polityka zagraniczna i bezpieczeństwa została przeformułowana. Turcja nie ukrywa ambicji odgrywania większej roli w regionie Bliskiego Wschodu i Afryki Północnej, nie waha się też twardo walczyć o swoje interesy z państwami europejskimi i USA. Wydaje się jednak, że będąc aktorem racjonalnym, będzie się starała nie doprowadzać do kryzysu w swoich stosunkach z państwami Sojuszu, który pozostaje filarem jej bezpieczeństwa, tym istotniejszym, jeśli weźmie się pod uwagę potencjał niestabilności w sąsiedztwie Turcji. Pozostanie sojusznikiem, na którego można liczyć w czasie ewentualnych kryzysów. Nie oznacza to, że Turcja nie będzie już wywoływała sporów w łonie NATO, wręcz przeciwnie. Jeśli jej interesy czy postulaty nie będą uwzględniane, państwa członkowskie na pewno to odczują, nawet kosztem spójności NATO. (fragment tekstu)
