Abstrakty

Celem niniejszego opracowania jest analiza i ocena roli BIZ w modernizacji wybranych nowych krajów członkowskich Unii Europejskiej. Celem jest również próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, w jakim stopniu firmy z udziałem kapitału zagranicznego wpływają na zmiany ekonomiczne w tych krajach. Zakres geograficzny analizy został ograniczony do czterech nowych krajów członkowskich UE, tj. Czech, Polski, Węgier i Słowacji. (fragment tekstu)

The inflow of foreign capital to new member states in the form of foreign direct investment plays a significant role in the development of their economies; however, asymmetry may be recorded in terms of global and intra-community flows of capital in new and old member states. The increasing significance of foreign direct investment in new member states confirms an increase in the flow of per capita aggregated values as well as their share in national investment outlays and GDP. The modernisation of the economies of new member states (Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia) involves changes to the structure of foreign direct investment in favour of technologically advanced industrial processing and an increasing share of foreign investment in R&D projects as well as the recruitment of research staff in these countries. In addition to that, foreign investors strengthen the export potential of host countries, which is confirmed by the case of Poland. New EU member states also engage in overseas investment projects.
