Abstrakty

W artykule zwrócono uwagę na charakterystyczny dla współczesnych relacji gospodarczych proces regionalizmu, którego istotą jest zawieranie regionalnych porozumień handlowych. Dyskryminacyjny charakter tego procesu, z założenia sprzeczny z postulowaną na forum WTO powszechną liberalizacją, nie jest jednak przeszkodą dla jej kontynuowania. Obserwowane zmiany ilościowe i jakościowe regionalizmu znajdują swoje odzwierciedlenie w analizach teoretycznych, w których odchodzi się od założeń tradycyjnej teorii handlu na rzecz syntetycznego podejścia łączącego elementy nowej teorii handlu, endogenicznego wzrostu gospodarczego, nowej geografii ekonomicznej czy ekonomii wyboru publicznego. The paper focuses on regionalism which is a prominent feature of contemporary economic relations. The essence of this process is building regional trade agreements (RTAs). The number of RTAs is still increasing in spite of the discriminatory nature of this process, contrary to the assumptions of the WTO's multilateral liberalization. The observed quantitative and qualitative changes of regionalism are reflected in the theoretical analysis, which departs from assumptions of the traditional trade theory for the sake of a synthetic approach connecting elements of the new trade theory, endogenous growth, new economic geography and economics of public choice.
