Niniejsze opracowanie ma na celu wykazanie, iż zadłużenie zagraniczne krajów Ameryki Łacińskiej jest poważnym problemem gospodarczym i istotnym hamulcem rozwoju ekonomicznego tego regionu. Warto podkreślić jednakże, że ciężar jego obsługi rozkłada się nierównomiernie na poszczególne kraje.(fragment tekstu)

Foreign debts of Latin American countries constitute a major economic problem and are a significant obstacle in the economic development of the region. The article is an attempt at a quantities and qualitative presentation of the scale of the problem and of the burden of servicing debts for the economies of Latin American countries in the years 1980-1988. Specifically the authors discussed the following issues: dynamics and structure of debts and costs of their servicing, net inflow of foreign credits and terms of their granting, and net transfer of capital. In the analysis the authors made use of a number of indicators describing indebtedness and its servicing.(original abstract)
