Porównano siłę nabywczą złotego w stosunku do wymienialnych walut państw kapitalistycznych. Siła ta jest miarą, która może posłużyć do prawidłowego badania przebiegu zaszłości gospodarczych.

The buying power of the zloty is examined by comparing the home and foreign price of the trophe, coal, metals, corn and wool. The comparisons show that the buying power of the dollar towards the zloty oscillates about the relation: 1 dollar = 100 zlotych. It is also proved that the present buying power of the dollar is equal to about 9 pre-war cents. The prices of the raw materials are regarded to be the sufficient and adequate base for comparing the buying power of the currencies, because they are negligably charged with the differences existing in the terms of production in different countries. It is, therefore, improper to take the prices of industrial goods for stating the mutual relations between the values of currencies. Since the discrepancies between the costs of production of industrial goods in different countries indicate the possible technological backwardness of a country. (original abstract)
