Omówiono reformę gospodarczą w Polsce oraz jej założenia i przebieg realizacji programu gospodarczego rządu.

The article deals with the presentation of assumptions and the to date implementation of the economic reform in Poland. The period in question has been from 1981 up to the present moment. The paper consists of three chapters. The final chapter constitutes an attempt at an evaluation of the Government Economic Programme. As regards the implementation of the Government Economic Programme among achievements one should include: stopping hyperinflation, bringing the prices to the level that reflects actual costs, obtaining a relative market balance, introducing an internal convertibility of the zloty and a more intensive cooperation with abroad. On the other band, one should be critical of the deep economic recession, unemployment and a significant decline of the real value of wages and the negative impact of the reform in the social, cultural and political spheres.(original abstract)
