The article deals with three main systems of national accounting: Traditional accounting, The French system of social accounting, The UN system of national accounting. The article describes the main features of the three systems and the basic differences between them. It also suggests which system to use in different situations. The article tells us how national accounting systems have evolved and how the current trends are developing.(original abstract)
