Celem niniejszej publikacji jest próba poszukiwania optymalnego systemu finansowania rewaloryzacji zespołów zbytkowych, w zmieniającej się rzeczywistości politycznej i gospodarczej. (fragment tekstu)
The aim of the paper is to examine the causes and the effects of the crisis of Cracow monuments' renovation financing system. Basing on the many years' analyses the hitherto existing system has been described and its inefficiency has been proved. Concidering the changing political and economic conditions of Poland, the present system of financing monuments' renovation is old-fashioned. Its continuation may lead to disastrous effects. The changes which are taking place tend to the restoration of a part of the monumental buildings to the owners. The rents for the use of buildings are to be calculated on free market principles. Thus, there is a chance of overcoming the past financial barrier. The system of financing the protection and reconstruction of monuments should be based on the incomes of the owners and users of buildings. These means should be supplemented with mortgage credits and state funds. The ways of gaining and managing the latter must be changed.(original abstract)
