Abstrakty

Podstawowym celem niniejszego opracowania jest próba zobrazowania stanu i kierunków rozwoju ważniejszych zjawisk demograficznych, które miały miejsce w Nowej Hucie w okresie 1960-1970. Stan i tendencje rozwojowe liczby ludności oraz jej ruch naturalny przedstawiono ze szczególnym zwróceniem uwagi na kształtowanie się rodności i umieralności (w tym umieralności niemowląt). Omówiono także wędrówkowy ruch ludności Nowej Huty w badanym okresie.

The paper presents the state of population of Kraków newest quartet and its development trends in the years 1960 - 1970. It contains a detailed analysis of the number of inhabitants in relation of urban and rural population. The problem of development dynamics has been dealt with particular attention. In this respect the development trend of total population number has been discussed separately in terms of sex and age. On the basis of extensive data and thorough analysis the author concludes that both integrative processes and the specific character of the demographic structure of Nowa Huta population are strictly correlated with the town-building function of Lenin steel plant. Internal migration processes of the pay-seeking type and orientation towards Nowa Huta steel plant as a pontential employment place have determined the present development of Nowa Huta population, directed the pace and range of its growth and considerably caused the specific character of demographic interrelation with the youngest quarter of Krakow. The research carried out by the author proved the hypotheses of the ageing of Nowa Huta population. Symptoms of that process have occurred at the basis as well as the top of Nowa Huta age pyramid. The stabilization of migration process which accelerated the pace of demographic processes and modernized their structural features can easily be traced. The author assumes that in the nearest future the ageing process will place Nowa Huta inhabitants among communities with the largest percent of old-age citizens. One may also expect a paradoxical situation where Kraków newest quarter, will demonstrate the domination of the old population. (original abstract)
