Przedstawiono historię pozyskiwania kredytów zagranicznych przez rząd polski od rządów obcych państw po odzyskaniu przez Polskę niepodległości w 1918 r.

From the moment of regaining an independence, a financial situation of Poland was very difficult. Almost all the ministers of Treasury in the period of 17.11.1918-9.12.1923 (in this period there were 12 ministers of Treasury) thought that the effectiveness and the easiest way necessary for approvisation of country, for military aims (particulary during Polish-Soviet war) and mainly for liquidation of the deficit budget (especially this way was popular during hyperinflation) were foreign loans. Due to many factors it wasn't easy to receive a foreign loan. Because of small interest in investing in Poland by foreign investors. Polish government tried to gain financial aid from the foreign governments. The possibility of gaining the governmental loans was bigger than obtaining the loans from the private investors.The foreign governments granted loans to Poland because they wanted to make it dependent on them. From 1918 to 1920 Poland got loans mainly from the USA and France. From 1921 to 1923 the foreign loans were very small. The dimension of these loans couldn't resolve the financial problems of Poland.
