he article presents the problem of the relationships between the product portfolio strategy and the corporate strategy of the company (in particular development strategy investment strategies and other functional strategies are discussed). Potential changes in the product portfolio designed on the basis of projected market conditions, are not very ofter analyzed in the context of future consequences in the domain of activity (change in the sector and sector-specific characteristics, and others), infrastructure and structure of fixec assets, technology, organization and organizational culture. Lack of mobility of re sources makes decisions on the product portfolio significantly important to the strategic effectiveness of enterprises. (original abstract)
