Companies that act on today's market arę faced with fierce competition. Due to that fact they have to become organizations capable of continuous improvement and searching for new ideas and values for customers. They should constantly implement new solutions in all areas, especially in new products. The aim of this article is to present the role of design in product innovations and new roles of designers in new product development process. (original abstract)
