In the present conditions for running business, the insurance industry deals with an environment in which potential customers of individual insurers are better and better acquainted with the art of running business and increasingly conscious of potential consequences of finalising contracts or deals. In the popular opinion the insurers do not always present a favourable image. Principles and rules referring to claims, particularly in case of their numbers growing, as well as having to deal with various types of reservations, complaints, legal proceedings, bear serious consequences for both the management and the insurance company itself. Since sales level of insurance policies depends on an insurer's reputation, keeping old customers and winning new ones might be very difficult for companies with a bad image, which might even lead to their elimination from the market.
