Abstrakty

The aim of the transport policy in public passenger transport is to ensure that public passenger transport works as efficiently as possible, both with respect to the use of existing capacity and to the extension of infrastructure and mobile capacity. .The transport sector functions within an economic and social framework established by the state as a basis for meeting its overall objectives for the national economy. Efficiency and flexibility are the essential characteristics of a public transport system. To solve the problem of mobility, users want a real alternative to private transportation and therefore, ask public transport to be competitive with private transport from all viewpoints. Because of the shortage of finance all public transport have increased fares. But it is not enough either for meeting rising costs nor for the renewal rolling stock. The region policy is that the remainder of the capital grants should be for projects which improve passenger convenience, operating efficiency and increase revenue. (fragment of text)
