The aim of this econometric study was to identify the economic factors which determine FDI inflow into the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. The high degree of correlation existing between these factors (exogenous variables) and the level of FDI inflow (endogenic variable) indicates a close relationship (strong correlation). In general, the research results confirmed the hypothesis that foreign investors are guided by different motives when choosing a country to locate FDI in. The main motive, however, is the investment strategy adopted by the foreign firm, i.e., whether investments abroad should be market-seeking in character or low-production-cost seeking.
