The aim of this article is to discuss the concept of calculation of effectiveness in relation to the needs of the operating activity of an enterprise. The present study essentially focuses on the specific accounting methods applied in an operations management system. Calculation of effectiveness is a diagnostic and decision-oriented research approach directed primarily towards the following tasks: estimating the efficiency of a firm's economic activity (from a segmental and synthetic perspective), comparative analysis, and long-term planning in the operations sphere.
